Kia Sportage 2024 Model Review

Want to buy a new Kia Sportage but not sure which one? Check out this 2024 Kia Sportage model review and learn more about this new Kia SUV.

What to Expect From Each Trim Level

Just last year, Kia updated the Sportage in a big way. Along with a size upgrade that allows the new Sportage to compete more effectively with similar SUVs in its class, such as the Toyota RAV4 and the Subaru Forester, it also got a style makeover.

Last year’s newly restyled Kia Sportage made a big splash, and the automakers haven’t messed with success. The entire lineup still features the same 2.5L 4-cyl engine and 8-speed automatic transmission for a perfect mix of power and efficiency.

As with last year’s Sportage, drivers can choose from seven trim levels. Comparing features and specs makes it easy to decide which to buy.

The Sportage LX Is Affordable but Well-Equipped

The base model of the Kia Sportage is the LX. This model is perfect for buyers on a budget who still want a stylish SUV loaded with essential tech.

The Sportage LX includes an advanced forward collision avoidance-assist system, lane-keeping assist, rear parking assist, and more. With 17” alloy wheels and an 8” touchscreen display with smartphone integration, it also has plenty to offer for style.

An Upgrade to the EX Comes With Cabin, Tech, and Style Enhancements

An upgrade to the Sportage EX gets drivers 18” alloy wheels and a stylish machined-finish look, but that’s just the beginning. The Sportage EX also features a push-button Smart Key with remote start and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The touchscreen for the EX gets an upgrade from 8 to 12.3 inches, and drivers can take advantage of the trim level’s wireless phone charger.

The Kia Sportage X-Line Offers an AWD Edition

Drivers who want AWD will find that upgrading to the Sportage X-Line is well worth the money. This trim level comes standard with Kia’s Active AWD with a center-locking differential for more than just slick roads, plus 19” alloy wheels.

Choose available Smart Power Tailgate and high roof rails to maximize the X-Line’s off-road capabilities.

Go Upscale With the Sportage SX or SX Prestige

The Sportage SX adds a touch of luxury to the line. This model has upscale standard features like a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade and LED interior lighting.

The more luxurious Sportage model also gets an upgraded instrument cluster and eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

Drivers who love the SX’s standard amenities will be even more impressed by the SX Prestige edition. This model gets 19” gloss-black alloy wheels, LED fog lights, projector headlights, and extra interior comforts like a heater steering wheel and ventilated front seats.

The Sportage X-Pro and X-Pro Prestige Tops the Line

The Sportage X-Pro and X-Pro Prestige combine the added convenience and luxury of the SX with the X-Line’s AWD and multi-terrain features. With multiple drive modes, this SUV is optimized for both on-road and off-road performance.

Finally, the line-topping X-Pro Prestige is one of the top-performing luxury off-road-ready SUVs. The model has the same all-terrain tires and driver assistance tech as the X-Pro but with the addition of front parking sensors, a surround-view monitor, and more.

The best way to determine which trim level is the best option is simple. Head to a local dealer to discuss options and take one out for a test drive.
